Access Statement - South View

Introduction
Our aim is to cater for the needs of all our visitors in our quality guest accommodation comprising of 5 bedrooms. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call us and we’ll endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival
o Local bus services operate from neighbouring Belgrave Road and Lucius Street.
o Torquay train Station is a 15 minute walk away, 3 minutes by car. We can arrange a free courtesy transfer to and from the station. Please call to arrange.
o Torquay Coach station is a 25 minute walk away, 6 minutes by car. We can arrange a free courtesy transfer to and from the station. Please call to arrange.
o Exeter airport is 40 minutes away by Car
o Brochures and Menus can be provided in large print by prior arrangement
o We have a website which includes online booking and availability.

Arrival &Car Parking Facilities
o 5 marked parking spaces are available for guests on a level concrete surface at the rear of the property (Please note that there is no access for guests at the rear of the property)
o We can assist guests with luggage
o Torquay town centre is about 10 minutes walk away, with the main harbour being about 15 minutes away.

Main Entrance and Reception
o The front access path has a small step of 7cm
o The front door has one step 13.5cm high and is 97cm wide.
o The front door is fixed open during the day, and closed in the evenings
o The inner vestibule door is 83cm wide and is always locked (guests are provided with a key)
o The entrance hall is 135cm wide by 3.2m long
o Fitted short pile carpet throughout the building.

Public Areas – General (Internal)
o Corridors have a good colour contrast and are well lit.
o Dining room and 1 bedroom located on the ground floor
o There are 13 stairs to the landing bedroom and a further 5 to the three remaining bedrooms.
o Stairs are 95cm wide, 25cm deep 19cm high with a handrail to the left.

Public Areas –WC
o Bedrooms are en-suite but no public WC available

Restaurant Dining Room
o Breakfast is served in the dining room located on the ground floor
o Door width 74cm (69cm clear access)
o Tables are flexible and can be moved upon request.
o Tables have under-space of 64cm high by 58cm wide and a height of 72cm. Chairs are without arms.
o Menus can be provided in large print by prior arrangement.

o On the ground floor there is one superior room, one twin on the landing level and 3 doubles on the first floor.
o All bedrooms have remote control colour televisions with teletext, fridges with icebox, radio alarm clocks, hair dryers and beverage tray.
o Good contrast in décor.

o Door width 74cm (72cm clear access) and 68cm (66cm clear access) outward opening to the bathroom.
o Bed height is 56cm

o We have a small patio garden with seating to the front of the property. There is a step of 13.5cm fro the path to the patio.

Additional Information
o Assistance dogs are welcome.
o Mobile phone reception is generally good.
o In the event of evacuation the fire bell will ring continuously. If you require more assistance for evacuation, please notify us on arrival. E.g hearing impairment.
o We are a no smoking building (smoking is allowed in the patio garden where an ashtray is provided)
